The article is devoted to peacemaking policy of the Soviet leadership during 1956-1962, the period when the USSR gradually moved from an open confrontation to a peaceful competition. The main attention is paid to the analysis of the ideas of the Soviet leadership in the field of global biosafety and bioethics. The main sources are the materials of the highest party organs – the Central Committee of the CPSU(b) / CPSU, including documents on the preparation and participation of representatives of the USSR in various peacekeeping organizations, the correspondence of Soviet leaders with representatives of world public organizations, outstanding scientists, and ordinary people from other countries demonstrating the reaction of the Soviet leadership to militaristic and anti-human measures.
